"Rugged" USB flash drive receives praise

Thursday 22nd of May 2008

OCZ Technology has launched a new "rugged" range of flash ATV drives that aim to protect a consumer's portable memory better than ever.

The 32GB device is encased in a durable rubber outer shell and has a removable cap that can be fixed to a chain when the device is in use.

Its black and red stylish design uses strong rubber grips to make it easy to handle and it can be fixed to a chain or key ring to prevent it getting lost.

The OCZ ATV drive will retail for $159.99 (£81.38) and is available now.

In other news, in recent days a number of other USB flash devices have been released by the fashion accessory company Transcend.

These include the Jetflash V85 - a AAA-battery sized memory device - and the V90 Classic, a reworking of the flash USB drive that won the Red Dot Design Award earlier this year.
